Area Director, US
About the job
Responsible for all activities related to Commercialization within their region of the US Market, including Market Development, Product Launch, Strategic Sales planning, and Field Sales leadership. Works closely with other cross-functional areas such as Marketing, Clinical and R&D.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver strategic leadership for the commercial path to growth and profitability within their US region
- Support clinical cases, aiding sites with planning, documenting cases and sharing best practices
- Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization in pursuit of the company’s overall business goals
- Support company clinical objectives including the identification of potential sites in their region.
- Execute upon the company’s commercialization strategy with an emphasis on achieving market penetration and sales growth
- Implement the company’s sales strategy across key market segments to ensure that the company identifies and optimizes a clear path toward aggressive growth
- Assess, build and manage necessary channels capable of delivering on the company’s growth objectives
- Support distributors and direct sales efforts to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Support strategy and provide leadership for enterprise-wide business development opportunities
- Originate and manage business development opportunities that are consistent with the company’s strategy for revenue growth
- Support the management of physician and sales training plans and support materials
- Manage relationships with leading KOL physicians, professional societies, and hospital administrators to eventuate new product introductions, key market adoption criteria and recommendations for success.
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business Administration.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a dynamic start-up environment
- 15+ years experience in medical device sales, with 5-8 years’ experience in sales with proven success in achieving sales objectives. Experience in senior sales management role desired.
- Preference for extensive Aortic and/or Peripheral Vascular experience. Embolization experience desired.
- Proven success in achieving sales objectives in a variety of distribution structures, product segments and customer engagement strategies
Work environment / Demands of the position:
- Travel – Approximately 50-75% of work time will be spent traveling.
