Shape Memory Medical is a Santa Clara, California based medical device company that designs, develops and manufactures innovative minimally invasive surgical devices for peripheral and neurovascular conditions using Shape Memory Polymer (SMP) materials.
SMP foams were developed at Texas A&M University and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and research was funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Shape Memory Medical team has extensive experience with the SMP foam technology and the commercialization of medical devices.
